Description
Drill Setup
- Defensive backs line up in a single file.
- A coach or designated passer stands approximately 15-20 yards away.
Drill Execution
- Backpedal and React: Defensive backs initiate a backpedal.
- Pass Placement: The coach throws the ball to the defensive back anywhere within the defensive back’s running range, varying the location, height, and speed of the pass.
- Catching Technique: Defensive backs focus on proper catching technique, using their hands and body to secure the catch.
- Ball Security: After securing the catch, defensive backs practice protecting the ball from potential fumbles.
Coaching Points
